Why won't my NordicTrack NTL99010.1 power on?
    • C
      Carl SmithAug 15, 2025
If your NordicTrack Treadmill isn't powering on, ensure the power cord is plugged into a surge suppressor, which is then plugged into a grounded outlet. Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor meeting the specified requirements. Note that the treadmill is incompatible with GFCI-equipped outlets. Also, check that the key is inserted into the console. Finally, examine the power switch on the treadmill frame; if it's protruding, wait five minutes, then press it back in to reset it.

      Calvin MartinezAug 21, 2025
If the walking belt on your NordicTrack Treadmill slips when walked on, first remove the key and unplug the power cord. Then, use the hex key to turn both idler roller bolts clockwise 1/4 of a turn. The walking belt should be tightened enough so you can lift each edge 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform, while keeping it centered. Plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat this process until the walking belt is properly tightened.

To recalibrate the incline on your NordicTrack Treadmill, hold down the Stop button and the Speed increase button, then insert the key into the console, and release both buttons. Next, press the Stop button, followed by either the Incline increase or decrease button. The treadmill will automatically rise to the maximum incline and then return to the minimum, recalibrating the incline system. If it doesn't calibrate, press the Stop button again, then press the Incline increase or decrease button again.

      Joseph WalterAug 30, 2025
If the walking belt on your NordicTrack Treadmill slows down when walked on, use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications. If the walking belt is overtightened, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both idler roller bolts counterclockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

      Lisa JonesSep 5, 2025
The console on your NordicTrack Treadmill may feature a display demo mode, designed for use in retail settings. If the displays stay lit after removing the key, the demo mode is likely activated. To deactivate it, press and hold the Stop button for a few seconds. If the displays are still lit, see THE INFORMATION MODE on page 23 to turn off the demo mode.
