Ifthecabinethasbeenusedtopreparehazardousdrugs,(chemotherapy),orothertoxicchemicals,decontaminationofthe
cabinetcannotbeaccomplishedbytheaboveprocedure.(Seesection6.6forguidelines)
PleaseconsultwithNuAire,Inc.aboutanyuniquecontaminationproblems.
Normally,nopreventivemaintenanceisrequiredontheinteriorofthecabinet(i.e.,theareabehindtheaccesspanel
containingtheHEPAfiltersandmotor(blowerassembly).Allrequiredadjustmentsinordertomaintainpropercabinet
airflowsareexternaltothecabinetinterior.Themotorislubricatedforlifeand isthermallyprotectedwithautomatic
reset.
7.2 FluorescentLampBulbReplacement
Thetwo(T8)fluorescentbulbsarecoolwhite,rapidstartandplacedexternaltothecabinettoaidmaintenanceand
minimizeheatbuild‐upwithinthecabinet.Theliferatingofthebulbis9000hoursbasedonthree‐hourburningcycles.
Toreplaceabulb,itisnecessarytoremovethelampassembly.
1. SwitchCabinetLightSwitchoff.
2. RemovethescrewsateachuppersideoftheControlCenterandallowtheControlCentertorotatedown,resting
onthesafetystraps.
3. Thebulbisnowdirectlyexposedforreplacement.
4. Thebulbisremovedbydisplacingthebulbtoonesideagainstthecompressiblebulbholderandliftingoutthe
bulb.
5. Reversetheproceduretoreinstallthelampassemblybeingcarefulnottopinchthesafetystraps,cableortubing
duringclosureofthecontrolcenter.
