Tether in use with harness, lap only belt or lap/
shoulder belt: Route vehicle belt as shown in diagram 4.
Adjust the shoulder belt on the side nearest the buckle to be
up and over armrest and through Toddler Shoulder Belt
Guide (diagram 5).
Without harness: Use vehicle lap shoulder belt to
secure child, placing shoulder belt through shoulder belt
guide on headrest. To adjust headrest, grasp it at top and
move into one of six locked positions (diagram 6). Do not use body
pillow in booster mode. When using as backless booster, shoulder
belt adjuster strap must be used. Adjuster strap is stored beneath
seat pad. Attach strap to booster base by threading clip through slot
on back of booster base opposite of vehicle belt buckle (diagram 7).
Attach clip to shoulder belt, so that opening faces forward (diagram 8)
and adjust so that belt is snug and centered over child’s shoulder.
LATCH: Lower LATCH bars may be used in center seating position
only when position is designated as a LATCH location in vehicle
owner’s manual, and spacing between bars is 11 inches (refer to Safe
Ride News LATCH manual). LATCH may be used to 50 lbs. unless
vehicle manufacturer specifies lower anchor weight limits. Disconnect
LATCH connectors from storage location on back of restraint (diagram
1, pg. 1). If restraint is tethered, route LATCH strap as shown in
diagram 9. If restraint is not tethered, rout LATCH strap as shown in
diagram 10.
Tether: Yes, for use with harness whenever possible; optional when in
highback booster mode.
Other: LATCH and tether may be used in booster mode to provide
additional stability.
Discontinue use of body insert when child’s shoulders are at or
above top harness slots.
Harness and
backrest expire six years
from date of manufacture;
booster base expires ten
years from date of
manufacture.
