Harness: The shoulder straps are attached to a splitter plate behind the
seat. Both strap ends are attached to one hook on the splitter plate. Pull
slack out of lap straps up toward shoulders and pull adjuster strap end in
front of seat to tighten harness. Restraint has Click & Safe™ audible
harness snugness indicator. The indicator may click indicating harness is
tight prematurely; check harness for tightness. Lift the adjuster lever at
lower front of seat and pull on harness retainer clip to loosen. The lap
straps are threaded through slots near
child’s hips to the bottom of the seat so
that the metal anchor lies flat against the
shell underneath the seat. HUGS®
elastomer (rubber-like) pads on shoulder
straps may be removed when rear-facing
if desired, but must be used when
forward-facing.
Harness slots: There is one set of slots, which may be raised or lowered by squeezing handle
at top of headrest and sliding into desired position (diagram 1).
Crotch strap: There are two positions. Inner slot must be used when rear-facing if restraint is
installed using safety belt; switch to outer slot when buckle is under child or when child is 30 lbs.
and above and is forward-facing. To change position, turn buckle webbing and slide it between
positions (diagram 2). Position buckle in slot closest to, but not under, child for rear-facing use
when using LATCH.
