Belt Path:
With base (cont.): Once base is correctly installed, push
adjustment button on load leg and extend leg until foot makes contact
with vehicle floor. Lock leg into place using first position that firmly locks
leg into contact with vehicle floor. Make sure indicator on foot shows
green, not red (diagram 7). Load leg must not push base of restraint up
off of vehicle seat. If this occurs, choose another seating position, or re-
install base with load leg folded beneath base. Load leg may not be
used over vehicle floor storage compartment.
Without base: Lap portion of safety belt is routed through both
slots across top of restraint, over child. Shoulder portion, if present, may
either be routed through belt guide on back of seat (diagram 8), or may
rest against vehicle seat (diagram 9). The belt guide is NOT a lock-off.
You must lock safety belt. Line on child restraint handle must be level
with ground (diagram 10).
LATCH: Restraint has rigid LATCH connectors. Lower LATCH bars may
be used in center seating position only when the position is designated as
a LATCH location in vehicle owners manual and when spacing is 11
inches. Push release buttons on LATCH connectors (diagram 11)
and rotate connectors 180 degrees, making sure they are locked into
place. Unfold load leg from beneath base. Attach connectors to
vehicle lower anchors, making sure green is showing on connectors
(diagram 12). Restraint comes with optional plastic LATCH guides
for use with deeply recessed anchors (diagram 13).
Handle: There are three positions. Handle can be used in any
locked position in vehicle; however, handle must not contact any
portion of vehicle interior.
Other: Low birth weight pillow located inside infant insert should be
removed when child reaches 11 pounds.
Infant inserts and “head huggers” provided with the seat may be
removed to prevent these potential problems: pushes head forward (could
obstruct airway for newborn); interferes with harness; too wide for newborn;
too narrow for older baby.
This child restraint may be installed
using both LATCH and the safety belt at
the same time, unless prohibited by vehicle
manufacturer.
Child restraint expires seven years
from date of manufacture.
Important: This information sheet is not a substitute for complete manufacturer’s directions and current recall list.
