edge of seat. Restraint must be fully
reclined (position 3), when used rear-
facing Use only positions 1 or 2 for
forward-facing installation. Position 1
must be used if installing restraint with
a lap-only belt and child weighs more than 40 lbs.
Belt path: If LATCH is not in use, store connectors in slots in rear of

offs on child restraint. Route safety belt through appropriate
belt path and lock retractor to secure child restraint. As of
January, 2014, the only inflatable belts permitted for use when
installing this restraint are Ford Motor Company belts. Other inflatable
belts have not been tested and may not be used.

slots on each side of shell (diagram 4). Loosen harness, remove belly
pad, raise child seat headrest, and pull seat pad forward to expose
rear-facing belt path. Use only lock-off closest to buckle. Open both blue
locking tab and clamp (diagram 5). Remove slack from lap belt by pulling
on shoulder belt while pushing down on seat. Close lock-off over both
portions of safety belt. Use of lock-offs is not necessary if vehicle belt
locking device, such as locking retractor or locking latchplate, is engaged.
Do not use lock-off with lap-only belt.
Forward-facing: Vehicle belt is threaded through side slots behind
shell over metal bars (diagram 6). Use only lock-off closest to buckle.
Open both green tab and clamp (diagram 7). Remove slack from lap belt
by pulling on shoulder belt while pushing down on seat. Close lock-off over
both portions of safety belt. Use of lock-offs is not necessary if vehicle belt
locking device, such as locking retractor or locking latchplate, is engaged.

with lap-only belt and child weighs more than 40 lbs.
