Why does air re-enter the bag after vacuuming with my NUTRICHEF PKVS20STS?

  If air was removed from the bag, but has re-entered, there might be a wrinkle along the seal causing leakage. Try cutting the bag and resealing it. Also, moisture or food material along the seal may prevent proper sealing; wipe the top inside of the bag before resealing. If you vacuumed sharp food items, the bag may be punctured, so use a new bag and cover sharp items with cushioning. Finally, fermentation or natural gases from the food may have occurred, indicating spoilage, and the food should be discarded.

  If air remains in the bag after vacuuming, ensure the bag opening is entirely inside the Vacuum Chamber. Inspect the bag for leaks by sealing it with air, immersing it in water, and applying pressure; bubbles indicate a leak, so use a new bag. If using a customized bag, check the seal for wrinkles, which can cause leakage; cut and reseal the bag. Avoid creating your own side seams, as this can also lead to leaks.

  If the bag melts, the rubber lip may have become too hot. Always wait at least 5 minutes for the appliance to cool down before vacuum packaging another item.
