Installing/Removing Battery
Battery Operation Times
Battery charge status is displayed on the control panel and on the battery.
Press the PUSH button on the battery to display remaining battery life in 25% increments.
Battery operating times will degrade with battery age, number of charge cycles and operating
environment.
Battery Replacement. While it is not uncommon for batteries to last more than two years, it is
recommended that battery capacity be evaluated after two years of device use.
Air Travel. The Independence is listed as an approved portable oxygen concentrator by the United States
Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration. Please note that many air carriers require
prior notification (usually at least 48 hours) for passengers traveling with portable oxygen
concentrators. Not all air carriers provide an electrical outlet aboard the aircraft, so the patient should
have sufficient batteries (or confirmed alternative power source) to account for at least 150% of your total
travel time, including, but not limited to: (A) commuting time to and from the airport; (B) transition time in
and out of airports; (C) the duration of your flight; and (D) any unexpected delays. Please be aware that
battery requirements may vary based upon the prescribed delivery mode (pulse versus continuous) as well
as selected flow rates.
Hold the battery as shown with pull tab
up and the battery connection to the
bottom and install into the back of the
device as shown.
The battery will drop down slightly and
click into position.
