13. Inspection and maintenance
The OilQuick quick coupler system must undergo regular inspection and maintenance to ensure that it works
properly and reliably.
13.1 Daily inspection
N,B! When re-assembling bolted joints (NORD-LOCK), safety washers have to be installed in pairs, cam face
to cam face (see illustration).
13.1.1 At the start of the working day
 Unlock the quick coupler
 The alarm must sound
 The warning light must come on
 The locking plungers must not be visible
 The indicator must be visible
 Lock the quick coupler
 The alarm must go off
 The warning light must go off
 The locking plungers must be visible
 The indicator must not be visible
 At low temperatures, remove any snow or ice from the attachment frames and connectors on the tools
13.1.2 At the end of the working day
 Inspect as described in 13.1.1
 Check that the dirt guard is working properly.
 Inspect the hydraulic system for any oil leaks.
 If necessary, clean any mud, slush and other dirt off the quick coupler. This is particularly important in
winter, as dirt can freeze on causing damage to the piston rods, couplings and other parts of
the equipment.
 Clean the female connectors on the quick coupler.
 Lubricate the locking plungers and side surfaces. There are two grease nipples on either side for this
purpose.
 Clean the male connectors on the attachments.
13.2 Monthly inspection
Carry out comprehensive inspection every month.
 Inspect as described in 13.1.1 and 13.1.2
 Check whether there is any play in the locking plungers.
 Check the play between the arm and coupler part. Insert shims, if necessary. Refer to the instructions
in the excavator manual.
 Check the coupler part for any cracks.
If you determine any defects during inspection, remedy them immediately otherwise the OilQuick quick
coupler system's functionality and reliability could be impaired. When you require spare parts for the
OilQuick quick coupler system, please contact your nearest OilQuick dealer. Dealers also carry out mainte-
nance work on request.
Remedy any defects immediately.
They could endanger safety at the workplace.
