3.1.3 Jam detection
Timing for checking paper jams in the Finisher is programmed in a microcomputer (CPU) on the Fin-
isher control PC board (FIN) in advance. It checks paper jams at the set timing in accordance with
whether paper exists in the sensor section or not. When a paper jam occurs, the Finisher control PC
board (FIN) sends the data of the jam to the equipment in a form of a self-diagnostic code, so that a
user can identify the jam in the self-diagnostic mode on the control panel of the equipment.
The paper jam error is cancelled when all the jammed paper is removed and the cover is closed.
