Set the mode dial to a setting other than

and lightly press the shutter button (halfway). The AF target mark
lights green when focus and exposure lock (focus lock). The shutter speed and aperture value are displayed

Now press the shutter button all the way (completely) to
shoot a picture.

Compose your picture with the focus locked, and then completely press
the shutter button to shoot a picture.
• The AF target mark blinks red if the camera cannot focus. Try locking
focus again.
