When setting an alar m value for an absolute alar m (ALt = AbS), simply set the alar m to the
value at which the alar m is to occur.
When setting the alar m value f or a de viation alar m ( ALt = dE), set the alar m to the v alue
equal to the diff erence in value between the desired alar m and Set Point 1. F or example if
a lo w alar m is required to be 5 degrees below SP1, then set ALLo to -5. If a high alar m is
required 20 degrees above SP1, then set ALHi to +20. If SP1 is changed, the alar m will
contin ue to hold the same relationship as or iginally set.
The following diagram shows the action and reset functions for both absolute and de viation
alarms.
When “Alar m P o w er Interr upt” ALPi is prog rammed ON and “Alar m Reset” is prog rammed
for Hold, the alar m will automatically reset upon a po w er failure and subsequent restor ation
if no alar m condition is present.
If “Alar m Inhibit” ALiH is selected ON, an alar m condition is suspended upon pow er up until
the process value passes through the alar m set point once. Alar m inhibit can
be restored as if a po w er up took place b y pressing together the
