7. Generator Drive
OVERVIEW
The engine drives the generator by means of a 6-rib
“Poly-Vee” belt (Figure 7-1). The drive pulley is
mounted on the engine flywheel by means of a flex-
ible coupling. The generator pulley is center-bolted
to the tapered end of the rotor shaft. The pulley must
be removed to remove the generator rotor from the
engine-generator adapter.
