Note:
• For timer recording to a tape, this unit must be connected to the K-185X.
• For timer recording to an MD, the system must be connected to the MD-185X.
Using the Timer

Starting recording at a selected
time
1. Press the TIMER button repeatedly
until “REC” is displayed, then press
the ENTER button.
2. Press the π or † button to select the
day that the timer will be used for
recording, then press the ENTER but-
ton.
• If “NEXT” is selected, the timer will start
and stop recording at the next occurrence
of the set times.
3. Press the π or † button to select the
ON time, then press the ENTER but-
ton.
• Enter the current time directly by press-
ing the number buttons on the remote
control, then press the ENTER button.
For example:
To set the clock to “9:38”, press the 10/0,
9, 3, 8 buttons, then the ENTER button.
4. Press the π or † button to select the
OFF time, then press the ENTER but-
ton.
• After storing the ON time, this unit will
suggest an OFF time of one hour after the
ON time you specified.
5. Press the π or † button to select the
playing source (FM or LINE), then
press the ENTER button.
• If you selected “FM”, press the π or †
button again to select the preset station
number then press the ENTER button.
6. Press the π or † button to select the
recording component (TAPE, MD or
TAPE & MD), then press the ENTER
button.
7. Turn the power off.
Note:
• Since muting is automatically turned on
when the timer is used to record, the
sound cannot be heard during recording.
• To monitor recording, press the MUT-
ING button to cancel muting.
• Timer recording activates once. After re-
cording, the setting is cancelled.
