3. Technical Description
The upper part of the boiler consists of a stoking door fitted on hinges and a
cleaning door attached to the weldment by means of fly nuts. The door is sealed tightly
to the boiler body by a heat insulation rope. The actual boiler body is a welded structure
consisting of steel sheeting. Seen from above, it is divided by water partitions into three
parts:
a) the frontal space behind the front wall of the boiler forms a charging shaft with a
moving alloy grate;
b) the central part forms the combustion space complete with a chamotte shaped brick
provided in the upper part for improved combustion of flue gases;
c) the rear space forms a reverse draft, where the combustion gases flow to under the
bottom part of the last partition and subsequently ascend into the smoke bell. In the
