The OSD NERO ARC 4/6/8/SUB are a series of 70V/100V/8Ω pendant speakers designed for high ceilings and open space environments. These speakers feature silk dome tweeters and Graphite woofers with an aluminum rust-resistant grille, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications due to their UV-resistant enclosure. The series includes models ARC4, ARC6, ARC8, and ARCSUB, each with varying specifications to suit different audio needs.
Function Description:
These pendant speakers are designed to deliver audio in environments where traditional in-ceiling or wall-mounted speakers may not be suitable, such as large open areas or spaces with high ceilings. They can be configured for 70V, 100V, or 8Ω operation, offering flexibility for various amplifier setups. The built-in 6-position tap allows for easy adjustment of power settings. The speakers are intended to be hung from the ceiling, with a safety cable recommended for secure installation to prevent personal injury and damage.

Usage Features:
- Installation: The speakers are designed for pendant installation. The process involves installing a top cover, fastening an eye hook, nut, and washer, routing speaker cables through the top cover and back cover, and connecting wires to the terminal block. A safety cable should always be attached to the speaker for secure mounting.
- Wiring: For 8 Ohm applications, speakers are typically wired in parallel to the amplifier's output terminals (red to + and black to -). For 70V/100V applications, multiple speakers can be connected in a distributed audio system, with the appropriate tap setting selected on each speaker. When installing multiple rows of speakers, it is recommended to do multiple wire runs, one run per row, rather than a single wire run.
- Speaker Placement: For optimal sound, speakers should be separated by 6-10 feet.
- Adjustable Settings: A 6-position switch allows users to select the appropriate speaker setting (8ohm-0-xW-xW-xW-xW) for their specific application, accommodating both low impedance (8Ω) and constant voltage (70V/100V) systems.
- Included Accessories: The package includes the speaker, top cover, eye hook & nut, hanging cable, two carabiners, two screws, and a user manual.
- Tools for Installation: Recommended tools include a pencil, drill, tape measure, wire cutter, Phillips screwdriver, safety eyewear, gloves, and a utility knife.
Maintenance Features:
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides a troubleshooting section for common issues:
- No sound: Check if power is applied to all equipment, and verify routing input/output controls.
- Low sound level: Check volume controls, amplifier equalizers, and ensure connections are not partially shorted.
- Sound cuts in and out: Check for overload conditions or bad connections.
- Distortion at increased level: Ensure the speaker is not over-driven and the amplifier is not over-driven. Reduce amplifier power slightly.
- Speaker makes "buzzing" noise: Check if the speaker is tight and inspect for loose parts or damage.
- Durability: The UV-resistant enclosure and IP66 certification indicate resistance to dust and water, making them suitable for outdoor use and reducing the need for frequent maintenance in challenging environments.
- Warranty: OSD AUDIO electronics come with a 15-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This covers replacement of defective parts and correction of workmanship defects. The warranty requires proof of purchase and adherence to installation and usage instructions. Repairs must be performed by OSD AUDIO, and units must be returned at the owner's expense with prior written permission. The warranty does not cover damage from abuse, accident, misuse, negligence, improper operation, alterations, modifications, or normal wear and tear. Damage from excessive power voids the warranty on affected parts.
