Replacement of cartridge
Cartridge replacement is dependent on various factors, such as
the amount of water used, water pressure, geographic regions and
water quality. If any of the following conditions applies, please
replace the cartridge. (Refer to installation of filter cartridge on
page 10 for to replace cartridge).
1. The volume of purified water has been reduced to a thin stream.
The hollow filament filter built into the cartridge has countless
number of micro-pores of 0.1 micron metre unit. These pores
form a multi-layered structure, filtering out contamination
on the micro level, as well as red dust, colon bacilli, bacteria,
protozoa, etc. For this reason, if the holes gradually become
clogged with red rust, or contaminated during use, it will reduce
the volume of purified water obtained.
2. The filter becomes brown or grey. You can easily check for
contamination by opening the cartridge cover. If the filter is
brown or grey, it is because the filter has been filtering out red
dust and cloudy particles. Cartridge clogging is dependent on
the volume of water used, water pressure and water quality.
If the filter is clogged, the volume of purified water will not
increase even if the tap is turned on further.
3. The smell of bleaching powder can no longer be removed
from the purified water, i.e. chlorine removal function has
deteriorated. Granular activated carbon, which has excellent
odour removing ability, has innumerable crevices and holes in
its surface that absorb residual chlorine. If absorption ability
deteriorates, the purified water will retain odour.
