The hearing aids uses one of the
following speakers:

How to replace the
battery (size 312)
1. Remove
Fully open the
battery drawer.
Remove the
battery.
2. Uncover
Remove the sticky
label from the + side
of the new battery.
Tip:
Wait 2 minutes so that the battery
can draw air, to ensure optimal
functioning.
3. Insert
Insert the new
battery into the
battery drawer.
Make sure the
+ side is facing up.
4. Close
Close the battery
drawer. The
hearing aid will
play a jingle
through the
earpiece. Hold the
earpiece close to
your ear to hear the jingle.
Put on the hearing aid
Step 1
Place the hearing
aid behind your ear.
The speaker should
always be used with
an earpiece
attached. Use only
parts designed for
your hearing aid.
Step 2.
Hold the bend of the
speaker wire
between your thumb
and index finger. The
earpiece should
point towards
opening of the ear canal.
Step 3.
Gently push the
earpiece into your ear
canal until the speaker
wire sits close to your
head. If the speaker has
an ear grip, place it in
the ear so it follows the
contour of the ear.

What it is and does
Identify left and right
hearing aid
It is important to distinguish between
the left and the right hearing aid, as
they may be programmed differently.
You can find left/right colour indicators
in the battery drawer and on 60 and 85
speakers as shown. Indicators (either L
or R) can also be found on 100
speakers and some earpieces.
Turn the hearing aid on and

The battery drawer is used to switch
the hearing aid on and off.
To save battery life, make sure your
hearing aid is switched off when you
are not wearing it. If you wish to
return to the standard settings of the
hearing aid, simply open and close the
battery drawer (quick reset).
When to replace the battery
When it is time to replace the battery,
you will hear three beeps repeated in
moderate intervals until the battery
runs out.
Three beeps*
= The battery is running low
Four descending tones
= The battery has run out
Battery tip
To make sure the hearing aid is always
working, bring spare batteries with
you, or replace the battery before you
leave home.
Optional LED
Red blinks, continuously repeated, to
indicate battery low.
Turn OFF
Open the
battery drawer.
Turn ON
Close the battery
drawer with the
battery in place.
* Bluetooth® will be turned off and it will not be possible to use
wireless accessories.
Note: Batteries need to be replaced more often if you are
streaming to your hearing aid.

Flight mode
When flight mode is activated,
Bluetooth® is turned off. The hearing
aid will still be working. Pressing the
push button on one hearning aid will
activate flight mode on both hearing
aids.
To activate and deactivate
Press the push button for
at least 7 seconds. A jingle
conrms your action.
Opening and closing the
battery drawer will also
deactivate ight mode.

Overview

The Oticon Engage miniRITE is a hearing aid designed for individuals requiring auditory assistance. This device is a Behind-the-Ear (BTE) style hearing aid, characterized by its compact design and placement behind the ear, with a speaker and earpiece extending into the ear canal.

Function Description:

The Oticon Engage miniRITE is designed to amplify sound and deliver it to the ear canal, improving hearing for users. It features microphones that capture sound, a speaker that delivers the amplified sound, and a battery drawer that also functions as an on/off switch. A push button on the device allows users to mute, change volume, and switch between different programs. The speaker is protected by a wax filter to prevent blockages and maintain sound quality.

The device is powered by a size 312 battery. An optional LED indicator blinks red continuously to signal a low battery. When Bluetooth® is turned off, wireless accessories cannot be used. Batteries may need to be replaced more frequently when streaming to the hearing aid.

Usage Features:

  • Turning On/Off: The battery drawer serves as the on/off switch. Closing the drawer with the battery in place turns the device ON. Opening the drawer turns it OFF. A quick reset to standard settings can be achieved by opening and closing the battery drawer.
  • Battery Replacement:
    1. Fully open the battery drawer and remove the old battery.
    2. Remove the sticky label from the '+' side of the new size 312 battery.
    3. Wait 2 minutes for the battery to draw air for optimal functioning.
    4. Insert the new battery into the drawer with the '+' side facing up.
    5. Close the battery drawer. The hearing aid will play a jingle through the earpiece to confirm it's on.
  • Battery Low Indication:
    • Three beeps repeated at moderate intervals indicate a low battery.
    • Four descending tones indicate the battery has run out.
    • An optional red LED blink continuously indicates a low battery.
  • Identifying Left and Right Hearing Aid: It is crucial to distinguish between the left and right hearing aids as they may be programmed differently.
    • A RED indicator marks the RIGHT hearing aid.
    • A BLUE indicator marks the LEFT hearing aid.
    • These indicators can be found in the battery drawer, on 60 and 85 speakers, and as 'L' or 'R' on 100 speakers and some earpieces.
  • Putting on the Hearing Aid:
    1. Place the hearing aid behind your ear. The speaker should always be used with an attached earpiece.
    2. Hold the bend of the speaker wire between your thumb and index finger, pointing the earpiece towards the ear canal opening.
    3. Gently push the earpiece into your ear canal until the speaker wire sits close to your head. If an ear grip is present, position it to follow the contour of the ear.
  • Flight Mode:
    • To activate/deactivate: Press the push button for at least 7 seconds. A jingle confirms the action.
    • Flight mode turns off Bluetooth® but the hearing aid remains functional. Pressing the button on one hearing aid activates flight mode on both.
    • Opening and closing the battery drawer also deactivates flight mode.
  • Changing Programs: The hearing aid can have up to 4 different programs, configured by a hearing care professional.
    • Pressing the push button changes the program.
    • With two hearing aids, the RIGHT aid switches programs forwards (e.g., 1 to 2), and the LEFT aid switches backwards (e.g., 4 to 3).
    • A "short press" or "long press" can be used for program changes, depending on configuration.
    • Activation sounds (1 to 4 beeps) indicate the current program.
  • Adjusting Volume: The push button allows volume adjustment. A click sound is heard when adjusting.
    • A short press on the RIGHT hearing aid increases volume.
    • A short press on the LEFT hearing aid decreases volume.
    • Two beeps are heard at the start-up volume level.
  • Mute Function:
    • Apply a long press (4 seconds) to the push button to mute the hearing aid.
    • The mute function only silences the microphone(s).
    • To reactivate, push the button briefly.
  • Autophone (Other Options): This is a program that automatically activates when the telephone has a built-in teleloop. A magnet needs to be placed at the telephone next to the sound outlet for this feature to work.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Tip: Always carry spare batteries or replace the battery before leaving home to ensure continuous operation.
  • Wax Filter: The wax filter protects the speaker from wax build-up, which is crucial for maintaining sound quality and device longevity. Regular inspection and replacement of the wax filter are recommended, as per the advice of a hearing care professional.
