10 Getting Into and Out of the Wheelchair
Getting into and out of the B 500/B 500-S is easy thanks to its modular construction. The armrests and footrests
are easily removed, allowing for good access from the side or the front.
10.1 From the side
Move the B 500/B 500-S power wheelchair as close as possible to the seat. Remove the armrest on the side the
user is getting into (Fig. 10). Remove the footrest if need be. Any lighting fixtures can also be swung down for
transfer. The user can then slide onto the seat from the side. Using a gliding board will facilitate the transfer.
