Do you have a question about the PAC TY1A-RS and is the answer not in the manual?
The TY1A-RS is a radio replacement and steering wheel control interface designed for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles. It facilitates the installation of an aftermarket radio while retaining factory features such as steering wheel controls (SWC), USB ports (in most cases), AM/FM antenna, and the factory audio amplifier.
The TY1A-RS allows for the integration of an aftermarket radio into compatible vehicles. It provides outputs for various vehicle signals including rear right and left speaker inputs, front right and left speaker inputs, SWC outputs (Key 1 and Key 2), vehicle speed sense, parking brake, reverse signal, illumination, and amplifier turn-on. It also offers OEM camera retention with 6V power and ground. The device supports two-wire resistive SWC systems and is compatible with various aftermarket radio brands such as Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, and Fusion.
The interface utilizes DIP switches for radio selection, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of aftermarket head units. It provides analog navigation outputs and can also process CAN data from the vehicle for navigation signals. The device includes an OBD-2 V3 connector for vehicles that do not provide CAN data or analog wires at the radio, allowing for the acquisition of vehicle speed sense, parking brake, or reverse signals. The OEM camera retention feature provides +6V camera power and camera ground.
