  If your PACOM Thermometer shows a reading that is too low, it could be due to several reasons. The infrared sensor lens of the probe might be dirty; clean it with cotton swabs dipped in anhydrous ethanol. Alternatively, the distance between the probe and the target might be too great; ensure the probe touches your forehead or is placed in your ear canal. Finally, if you have just come from a cold environment, stay in a room between 10.0°40.0 ° (50.0°104.0°) for at least 30 minutes before taking a temperature measurement.
