Simple setup

Making the connections

Connect the AC power supply cord only after all the other connections have been made.

Preparing the remote control

Batteries

Use a manganese dry battery or an alkali dry battery. Insert so the poles (+ and -) match those in the remote control.

Remote control use

Aim at the remote control sensor, avoiding obstacles, at a maximum range of 7 m (23 feet) directly in front of the unit.

DEMO function

When the unit is first plugged in, a demonstration of its functions may be shown on the display.

Overview of controls

Main unit controls

Refer to the numbers in parentheses for page reference.

Remote control overview

Buttons such as function the same as the controls on the main unit.

Discs

Basic disc playback

Press [] to turn the unit on. Press [OPEN/CLOSE] to open the disc tray and then load the disc.

Disc display function

This function allows you to display the information of the current track.

Disc play mode options

Press [CD] or [PLAY MODE] to select the desired mode.

Discs (Advanced Play)

Advanced disc playback features

This unit can play MP3 files and CD-DA format audio CD-R/RW that have been finalized.

Repeat play functionality

You can repeat program play or other selected play mode.

Program play feature

This function allows you to program up to 24 tracks.

Using the FM/AM radio

Manual radio tuning

Press [FM/AM] to select 'FM' or 'AM'. Press [TUNE MODE] to select 'MANUAL'.

Radio memory presets

Up to 30 stations can be set in the FM band and 15 stations in the AM band.

Automatic radio presetting

Press [PLAY MODE] to switch between 'LOWEST' or 'CURRENT' frequency.

Using the timer

Setting the clock

This is a 12-hour clock. Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select 'CLOCK'.

Play timer function

You can set the timer to come on at a certain time to wake you up.

Sleep timer function

This function enables you to turn off the unit automatically after the set time.

Using sound effects

Selecting sound effects

You can change the sound effect by selecting Preset EQ or adjusting the bass or treble effect.

Enhancing bass

Enables you to enjoy the powerful bass effect. Press [D.BASS] to turn the D.BASS function on/off.

Bass or treble adjustment

Enables you to enjoy the lower or higher pitch sound. Press [BASS/TREBLE] repeatedly.

Enjoying surround sound

Enables you to add natural width and depth to the stereo sound.

Using other equipment

iPod Connection and Charging

Connect your iPod to the unit, charge it, and prepare for playback.

Playing the iPod

Confirm the iPod connection, press play, and adjust volume for playback.

USB Mass Storage Device Operation

Connecting and Playing USB Devices

Connect and play MP3 files from USB mass storage class devices.
