Other methods of play
Changing soundtracks
Remote control only
Some DVDs have more than one soundtrack recorded on them,
such as multiple languages or PCM. and you can change
soundtracks during play.
1 Press [AUDIO] during play.
2 Press [UP/ON ] or [DOWN/OFF ^ ]
to change the soundtrack.
To clear the display
Press [AUDIO] or [SELECT).
• You can only select languages or sound formats if they have
been recorded on the disc you are playing.
• You can also make permanent language settings before play
with the Audio Language settings page 44). (Some discs are
designed to start in a certain language despite any changes you
make to the initial settings.)
Using this feature with karaoke discs
You can do the following with karaoke discs.
While playing a karaoke disc
Press [ <] ] or [ [> 1 to change the vocals.
DVD karaoke disc (Solot DVD karaoke disc (DueO
(—]: Vocal OFF [—]: Vocal OFF
[ON]: Vocal ON (1 +2]: Vocal 1. 2 O N
[VI]: Vocal 1 only ON
[V2]; Vocal 2 only ON
Press (UP/ON or [DOWN/OFF ^ 7 ] to change the vocals.
Multi-audio disc [Video CDt
[UR): Left and right channel sound from each speaker
[L): Only left channel sound
[R); Only right channel sound
Changing subtitle language
Remote control only
Some DVDs have more than one subtitle language recorded on
them, and you can change language during play.
1 Press [SUB TITLE] during play.
2 Press [<]] or [|>] to turn the subtitles
on and off.
3 Press [UP/ON or [DOWN/OFF ^]
to change the subtitle language.
To clear the display
Press [SUB TITLE] or [SELECT].
For your reference
• There may be a slight delay before subtitles are shown.
• You can only select languages if they have been recorded on the
disc you are playing.
