THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE
Thank you for purchasing this quality product. To ensure correct function and safety, please read and save all instructions before
using the product
SAFETY TIP
1. To avoid possible electric shock, turn off the electricity at the main fuse box or circuit panel before you begin the fan installation or before
servicing the fan or installing accessories.
2. Read all instructions and safety information carefully before installing your fan and save these instructions.
3. Make sure all electrical connections comply with local codes or ordinances and the National Electrical Code. If you are unfamiliar with
electric wiring, please use a qualified and licensed electrician.
4. Make sure you have a location selected for your fan that allow clear space for the blades to rotate, and at least seven (7) feet of clearance
between the floor and the fan blade tips. The fan should be mounted at least thirty (30) inches from walls or other upright structures.
5. WARNING: The outlet box and ceiling support joist used must be securely mounted, and capable of supporting at least 100 pounds. To
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury, mount to the outlet box marked acceptable for fan supported and use mounting
screws provided with the outlet box. The box must be supported directly by the building structure.
6. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury, mount to outlet box marked “acceptable for fan support” and use
mounting screws provided with the outlet box most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan
support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
7. Electrical diagrams are for reference only. Light kits that are not packed with the fan must UL listed and marked suitable for use with the
model fan you are installing. Switches must be UL. general use switches. Refer to the instructions packaged with the light kits and switches
for proper assembly.
8. After installation is complete, check that all connections are absolutely secure.
9. After making electrical connections, spliced conductors should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into outlet box. The wires
should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box.
10. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and fire, do not use this fan with any solid-state fan speed control device, or rheostat.
11. Do not separate the reverse switch until the fan has come to a complete stop.
12. Do not insert anything into the fan blades while they are rotating.
13. WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not bend the blade brackets (also referred to as “flanges”) during assembly or after
installation. Do not insert objects in the path of the blades.
14. To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items, be cautious when working around or cleaning the fan.
15. Do not use water or detergent when cleaning the fan or fan blades. A dry dust cloth orlightly dampened cloth will be suitable for most cleaning.

Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Parrot Uncle F6222 ceiling fan. It emphasizes safety precautions throughout the process, starting with a critical warning to shut off power at the fuse or circuit breaker before any work begins. The manual is designed to guide users through each step, from initial setup to troubleshooting common issues like wobbling, ensuring a safe and functional installation.

The primary function of the Parrot Uncle F6222 is to provide air circulation and illumination in a room. It is designed for indoor use and comes with a remote control for convenient operation. The fan features multiple speed settings and a reverse function, allowing it to be used effectively in both warm and cool weather. In warm weather, the fan should rotate counter-clockwise to create a downdraft that cools the room. In cool weather, it should rotate clockwise to create an updraft that circulates warm air trapped near the ceiling, helping to warm the room. The integrated light kit provides ambient lighting, enhancing the functionality of the fan.

Usage Features:

The installation process is detailed with clear, numbered diagrams, making it accessible for users to follow. It begins with mounting the fan to a securely installed outlet box, which must be capable of supporting at least 100 pounds. The manual stresses the importance of using an outlet box marked "acceptable for fan support" to prevent fire, electric shock, or personal injury. Users are guided through attaching the mounting bracket, assembling the downrod, and hanging the fan motor assembly. Electrical connections are explained with reference to local codes and the National Electrical Code, advising users to consult a qualified electrician if they are unfamiliar with electrical wiring. The instructions cover connecting the fan's wires to the household electrical supply, ensuring proper grounding.

Blade installation is a crucial step, and the manual provides guidance on attaching the fan blades to the motor housing. It also covers the installation of the light kit, including attaching the light fixture and installing the bulbs. The final steps involve attaching the canopy and ensuring all connections are secure.

Once installed, the fan is operated via a remote control. The remote control unit allows users to turn the fan on and off, adjust fan speed, and control the light. Typically, there are buttons for multiple fan speeds (e.g., low, medium, high), a fan off button, and a light on/off button. Some remotes also include a dimmer function for the light and a button to reverse the direction of the fan blades. The reverse function is particularly useful for seasonal adjustments, as mentioned earlier. The manual includes a diagram of the remote control with explanations for each button's function, ensuring users can easily understand and utilize all features.

Maintenance Features:

The manual also addresses common issues and provides maintenance tips to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the fan. One significant section is dedicated to troubleshooting "wobble," a common occurrence with ceiling fans. It explains that some movement is normal due to the fan being mounted on a rubber grommet, but excessive wobbling can be corrected. The first step in addressing wobble is to check that all screws securing the mounting bracket, downrod, and blade arms are tight. The manual then suggests checking if blade levels are unequal, providing a method to measure the distance from the ceiling to the tip of each blade. If discrepancies are found, a Blade Balancing Kit, which is included with the fan, can be used to correct the imbalance. The kit typically contains weights that can be attached to the blades to redistribute weight evenly. If wobbling persists, interchanging two adjacent blades might help redistribute the weight and achieve smoother operation. The manual explicitly warns against bending the blade arms or inserting foreign objects into the path of the blades to prevent personal injury.

For general care and cleaning, the manual recommends periodic cleaning of the ceiling fan using a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the paint finish. It is crucial to turn off the electricity supply to the fan before cleaning to prevent electrical shock. Users are advised not to use water or detergent for cleaning the fan or blades, as this could damage the motor or blades and pose an electrical shock hazard. The motor is designed with permanently lubricated ball bearings, eliminating the need for oiling. These maintenance guidelines are straightforward and aim to keep the fan in good working condition without requiring specialized tools or expertise.

The manual also touches upon noise, explaining that occasional small noises are normal, especially during the initial "breaking-in" period of a new fan. Most noises are expected to disappear within 24 hours of operation. This information helps set user expectations and reduces unnecessary concern about minor operational sounds.

In summary, the Parrot Uncle F6222 manual is a comprehensive guide that covers all aspects of owning and operating the ceiling fan. It prioritizes safety, provides detailed installation instructions, explains usage features through the remote control, and offers practical maintenance and troubleshooting tips. By following these instructions, users can ensure a safe, efficient, and long-lasting experience with their ceiling fan.
