SELECTING A LOCATION
Mount the Water Filter in the vertical position only!
The location selected for the installation should:
1. Allow clearance for valve handle travel.
2. Allow clearance on either side of the blue ring so it can be grasped and turned.
3. Allow the cutout under the ring label to be clearly seen in both the raised and lowered positions to simplify cartridge
changing.
4. Allow a minimum of 2.5” (6.5 cm) under the cartridge so it can be lowered for removal.
5. Allow space for “in” and “out” water line connections.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: For installations in Australia and New Zealand product must be installed with a backflow prevention device in accordance with
AS/NZS 3500 and AS/NZS 2845.1.
Before the filter can be installed, the bracket must be removed and remounted in the position best suited to your installation. In
the center position (illustration B), three screws can be used. When the bracket is mounted 45° to the left or right of center (see
illustrations A and C), only two screws are used.
Refer to the instructions printed on the cartridge label for cartridge replacement.
After installation is completed, be sure to double-check that the incoming water line is connected to the inlet opening of the
QL3B Head, and the faucet line is connected to the outlet opening of the head. If in doubt, check the direction-of-flow arrow
molded into the top of the head. Flush cartridge by running water through at full force. This will purge air and fines. Please refer
to the chart below and corresponding cartridge to obtain required flushing time.

Overview

The Everpure QL3B Filter System is a two-part water treatment unit designed for commercial applications, offering a reliable solution for improving water quality. This system consists of a permanently mountable head assembly and a disposable quick-change cartridge. The head assembly is constructed with reinforced nylon in all water-contacting parts, ensuring durability and preventing corrosion. It features an integral shut-off valve for convenient control of water flow and a multi-position, zinc-coated steel bracket for flexible installation. The quick-change cartridges are made with an aluminum pressure vessel, lined with polyolefin, and sealed with an ABS top cap, ensuring the integrity of the filtration process.

The primary function of the Everpure QL3B Filter System is to filter water, removing impurities and improving taste and odor for various commercial uses, particularly in foodservice settings. The system is designed to be user-friendly, with features that simplify both installation and maintenance.

Usage Features:

The Everpure QL3B Filter System is designed for straightforward installation and operation. When selecting a location for installation, it is crucial to mount the water filter in a vertical position. The chosen location must provide adequate clearance for several key operational aspects. First, there needs to be sufficient space for the valve handle to travel, allowing for easy shut-off and control of water flow. Second, clearance on either side of the blue ring on the cartridge is necessary so it can be easily grasped and turned during cartridge changes. Third, the cutout under the ring label must be clearly visible in both its raised and lowered positions, which simplifies the process of identifying the correct cartridge orientation for changing. Fourth, a minimum of 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) of space under the cartridge is required to allow it to be lowered for removal. Finally, adequate space must be available for connecting the "in" and "out" water lines to the system.

Before the filter can be fully installed, the mounting bracket needs to be removed and then re-mounted in the position that best suits the specific installation. The bracket offers multiple mounting options: in the center position, three screws can be used for maximum stability. If the bracket is mounted 45 degrees to the left or right of center, only two screws are required. This flexibility allows the system to adapt to various under-counter or cabinet configurations.

Once the bracket is secured, the incoming water line must be connected to the inlet opening of the QL3B Head, and the faucet line connected to the outlet opening. If there is any doubt about the correct connections, the direction-of-flow arrow molded into the top of the head should be consulted. After all connections are made, the cartridge must be flushed by running water through it at full force. This initial flushing step is critical for purging any air and fine particles from the new cartridge, ensuring optimal performance from the start. The required flushing time varies depending on the specific cartridge type, and users should refer to the provided chart to determine the appropriate duration for their installed cartridge.

The system is designed to be used with water that is microbiologically safe. It should not be used with water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. However, systems certified for cyst reduction can be used with disinfected waters that may still contain filterable cysts. This ensures that the water delivered by the system is safe for consumption and other commercial applications.

Maintenance Features:

Maintaining the Everpure QL3B Filter System is designed to be simple and efficient, primarily revolving around the quick and easy replacement of cartridges. The system's quick-change cartridge design means that when a cartridge reaches the end of its lifespan or capacity, it can be easily removed and replaced without the need for special tools or extensive plumbing knowledge. The integral shut-off valve in the head assembly allows users to turn off the water supply to the filter without affecting the main water supply, making cartridge changes a clean and hassle-free process.

The design of the cartridge, with its blue ring and label cutout, aids in proper orientation and removal. Users can grasp and turn the blue ring to unlock and remove the old cartridge, then insert a new one and turn the ring to lock it into place. This intuitive design minimizes downtime and ensures that the water filtration system remains operational with minimal effort.

Regular maintenance, specifically cartridge replacement, is essential for the correct operation and continued performance of this drinking water system. The manufacturer's instructions, including guidelines for cartridge replacement, must be strictly followed. The frequency of cartridge replacement will depend on factors such as water quality, usage volume, and the specific cartridge type installed. Adhering to these instructions ensures that the system continues to provide high-quality filtered water and maintains its effectiveness in removing impurities.

For installations in specific regions, such as Massachusetts, adherence to local plumbing codes (e.g., Commonwealth of Massachusetts Plumbing Code 248 CMR) is mandatory. In such cases, consulting a licensed plumber for installation is recommended to ensure compliance with all state and local regulations. This ensures not only the proper functioning of the system but also its legality and safety within the specified jurisdiction.

The Everpure QL3B Filter System is a robust and user-friendly solution for commercial water filtration needs, emphasizing ease of installation, convenient operation, and straightforward maintenance through its quick-change cartridge design.
