Why is my Pentair Water Pump having reduced capacity?
    • Z
      zalexanderAug 2, 2025
If your Pentair Water Pump is experiencing reduced capacity and/or head, check for air pockets or leaks in the suction line by inspecting the suction piping and valve glands on any suction gate valves. Also, the impeller might be clogged. To resolve this, turn off the electrical power to the pump, remove the six bolts holding the volute to the seal plate, slide the motor and seal plate away from the volute, and then clean any debris from the impeller. Another possible reason - clogged pump strainer. Clean suction trap.

Why does my Pentair Water Pump circuit breaker trip repeatedly?
    • M
      Monica RoblesAug 9, 2025
If your Pentair Water Pump's circuit breaker trips repeatedly, it could be due to excessive motor current. Ensure the breaker has adequate capacity. It could also be a GFCI fault, so test according to the GFCI manufacturer’s instructions and make sure no other lights or appliances are on the same circuit.

What to do if my Pentair IntelliFlo VF does not respond to IntelliTouch commands?
    • A
      Amanda GravesAug 16, 2025
If your Pentair Water Pump is not responding to IntelliTouch commands, ensure that the communication cable is connected at both ends. Also, check that the IntelliFlo local address matches the address used in the IntelliTouch, that the IntelliFlo has been assigned a circuit name on the IntelliTouch, and that the IntelliFlo display says “DISPLAY NOT ACTIVE”. A defective device on the network can inhibit the proper operation of another network device, so devices should be disconnected sequentially until the network starts working.

Why is my Pentair IntelliFlo VF Water Pump making noise?
    • M
      Michael RussellAug 25, 2025
If your Pentair Water Pump is experiencing mechanical troubles and noise, it could be due to cavitation. If the suction and discharge piping are not adequately supported, the pump assembly will be strained. Securely mount the pump on a concrete platform for quietest performance. Do not mount the pump on a wooden platform! It may also be due to foreign matter (gravel, metal, etc.) in the pump impeller; disassemble the pump, clean the impeller, and follow the pump service instructions for reassembly. Improper suction conditions may also be the cause, so improve suction conditions by increasing the pipe size, decreasing the number of fittings, and increasing the discharge pressure.
