Summary

General Description

TXP®-2D Overview

High-frequency ventilator for neonatal transport, pressure limited and time cycled.

Ventilator Components

Describes the Front panel, Phasitron®, and Ventilator switch as key parts of the system.

Front Panel Controls

Airway Pressure Manometer

Provides visual indication of airway pressure in cmH2O or kPa.

Mean Button Control

Controls Mean Airway Pressure or Amplitude indication on manometer.

Frequency Counter

Displays the high frequency rate in bpm when button is pressed.

Frequency and Amplitude Knobs

Knobs for setting high-frequency rate and pressure/chest wiggle.

PHASITRON® Interface

General Functionality

Mechanical/Physiological interface, a sliding venturi for inhalation/exhalation, protects lungs.

High-Frequency Ventilation Mode

Goals and Patient Suitability

Aims to limit pressure and optimize volumes; suitable for neonates with RDS, PPHN, etc.

Important Considerations

Monitor PaO2/PCO2 changes and ensure no tracheal or ETT obstruction.

Settings for High-Frequency

Control knobs include High Frequency (rate), Amplitude, Mean Airway Pressure, and O2 conc. %.

Troubleshooting

Parameter Adjustments

High-Frequency Parameter Changes

Adjustments for CO2 and PO2 levels using Amplitude, Rate, FIO2, and MAP.

NO Kit Setup

NO Set-up Instructions

Instructions for connecting the NO kit to the ventilator and test lung for setup.

Cleaning Procedures

Equipment Cleaning

New products are clean; disassembly and sterilization/decontamination recommended prior to use.

Sterrad® 100S Sterilization

Recommends Sterrad® 100S for sterilization; follow disassembly instructions.

Other Decontamination Methods

Decontamination based on temperature parameters: <280F for Phasitron, <140F for tubing.

Maintenance and Repair

Warranty Information

All devices sold with a one-year warranty on parts and labor from date of set-up.

Overhaul and Servicing

Devices checked by authorized center; annual PM recommended; 3-year life span.

Periodic Maintenance Tasks

Lubricate o-rings on breathing harness and Phasitron® diaphragm after cleaning/sterilization.

Product Specifications

Physical and Operational Specs

Details size, weight, battery requirements, gas consumption, and I:E ratios.

Calibration Procedures

Valve Identification

Identifies specific valve components like HF-TB-20 and Amplitude-FA-1 for calibration.

Calibration Setup

Connect circuit/test lung, set PEEP, gas source, and remove knobs for calibration.

Calibration Steps

Detailed steps for calibrating Amplitude and HF controls, ensuring correct frequency and pressure.

TXP®-2D Functional Check

Functional Check Setup

Set up using standard HF circuit/test lung, ensure manometer zero, connect gas.

Performing the Functional Check

Verify High Frequency and Amplitude knob functions, observe frequency ranges, and check max frequency.

Competency Assessment

Simulation Exercises

Three simulation scenarios to test setup and parameter adjustment skills.

Sim 3: ABG Interpretation

Setup neonatal lung model, interpret ABG, and determine necessary ventilator changes.

Competency Test Questions

Control Identification

Identify controls (HF, Amplitude, Mean Airway Pressure) and their functions.

Phasitron® Function Explanation

Explain in own words how the Phasitron® functions.

Ventilator Changes for CO2

Name two ventilator changes that would decrease CO2 during transport.

Mean Airway Pressure Control

Describe how mean airway pressure is controlled.

TXP®-2D Ventilator Classification

State the classification of the TXP®-2D ventilator.

Recommended NO System

Identify the recommended NO system for the TXP®-2D.

NO Delivery with Spontaneous Breathing

Discuss if NO concentrations are maintained if patient breathes spontaneously.
