PHASITRON®
General
The Phasitron® is the Mechanical/Physiological interface. Essentially the Phasitron® is
a sliding venturi that acts as both the inhalation and exhalation valve (see below).
Programmed gas from the face plate is introduced through the delivery port from the
white line. As targeted pressure is reached the venturi automatically decreases flow. This
protects the lungs from dissecting pressures and allows the inspiratory and expiratory
volumes to equalize; further enhancing diffusion and the mixing of gases.
