• Figures can deviate slightly from the actual situation, due
to different set executions.
• For a good understanding of the following circuit
descriptions, please use the wiring, block and circuit
diagrams (see chapter 9. Block Diagrams and 10. Circuit
Diagrams and PWB Layouts). Where necessary, a
separate drawing for clarification will be given.
7.1 Introduction
The Q522.2HE LA is the Hospitality version of the Q522.2E LA
chassis. Refer to the Service Manual of the Q522.2E LA
chassis for a description of most circuits.
The hospitality-specific features comprise:
• Advanced Hotel mode (volume lock, front control lock out,
guest menu, welcome message, etc.)
• Integrated LCD clock display with wake-up alarm
• Time synchronisation via Teletext
• Channel protection
• Energy saving features
• Multimedia Player.
The chassis supports four basic application types:
• Stand-alone
• Interactive via SmartCard (integrated slot in the TV)
• Interactive via SmartCard (Serial Xpress or SmartPort
Xpress add-on box)
• Interactive via 3rd-party set-top box.
