activate
the
transmitter
for
tests
or other
reasons,
move
the
switch
upward
to the
"ON/RESET"
position
and
leave
it
in
that
position
as
long
as
transmission
is
desired.
The
locator
should
be checked
during
the
ground
check
to make
certain the
unit
has not
been
accidentally
activated.
Check
by tuning
a radio
receiver
to
121.5
MHz.
If
there
is an
oscillating
sound,
the
locator
may
have
been
activated
and should
be
turned
off immediately.
Reset
to the
"ARM"
position
and
check
again to
insure
against
outside
interference.
NOTE
If for
any
reason
a test
transmission
is necessary,
the
operator
must
first
obtain
permission
from
a local
FAA/FCC
representative
(or
other
applicable
Authority).
Test
transmission
should
be kept
to
a minimal
duration.
