3,7 ENGINE FIRE DURING START
Engine fires duringsran ar€ usually the
result ofov€rpriming. The fißt
attempt to extinguish the fire is
to
try
tostart theengine and drawthe excess
fuel
back into the induction system.
If a fire is
present
before the enginc ha! startedr mov€ the
mixture
control !o idlc cuFoff,

throttle
and crank the engine. This is
an
arlempt lo draw the fire back into the engine.
If the engine
has started, continue operatirg to try ro
pull
the fire into
tbe engme,
Ineithercase

The fuel selector valv€s should
be OFF and the mixture ar id le
