CARBURETOR ICING

This is due to the

carburelor

and the
absorption of hcat from

air by vaporizarion
of the fuel.
To avoid this,carburetor
preheat
is
provided
to replace
the heat lost
by
vaporization.
Carburetor heat
should
be full
on when carburetor
ice ii
encountercd.
Adjust mixture for
maximum
smoornnels.

Engine
roughncss is usually
due
to carburelor
icing which
is indicated
by.a drop in
RPM, and may be
accompadied
by a
slighr loss ofairsf,eed

altitude.
