Overview

The Poly Sync 60 Series is a versatile Bluetooth and USB conference room speakerphone designed for flexible connectivity and high-quality audio in meeting environments. It offers both mobile and corded connectivity options, making it suitable for a variety of setups.

Function Description:

The Poly Sync 60 serves as a central audio hub for conference rooms, facilitating clear communication for both local and remote participants. It connects to computers via USB-C for corded operation and to mobile devices via Bluetooth for wireless conferencing. A key feature is its ability to link two Poly Sync speakerphones (daisy chain audio) to expand audio coverage in larger rooms, supporting both Party (default) and Stereo audio output modes. In Stereo mode, the primary device handles the right channel audio, and the secondary device handles the left channel. The device also includes USB-A ports for charging mobile phones, adding convenience during meetings. For video conferencing, the speakerphone provides a dedicated USB-A port for connecting a compatible video camera, with the port initially covered and requiring a provided torx tool for access. The Teams model of the Poly Sync 60 features a dedicated Microsoft Teams button, allowing users to quickly launch the Teams app, view notifications, and manage meetings directly from the speakerphone.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth and USB-C (for computer connection).
  • Charging Ports: Two USB-A ports for mobile phone charging.
  • Video Camera Port: One USB-A port for connecting a compatible video camera.
  • Daisy Chain: Supports linking two Poly Sync 40 or Sync 60 speakerphones for expanded audio.
  • Audio Output Modes (Daisy Chain): Party (default) and Stereo.
  • LED Indicators:
    • Crossing blue pattern: Pairing mode.
    • Solid blue: Pairing successful (connected).
    • Flashing green: Incoming call.
    • Solid green: In a call.
    • Solid red: Mute active.
    • Crossing white pattern: Linking mode (daisy chain audio).
    • 2 white blinks: Linking successful.
    • Note: LEDs do not illuminate in standby mode.
  • Controls: NFC, Bluetooth pairing, Microsoft Teams interaction (Teams model only), Volume down, Mute/unmute, Volume up, Call answer/end, Default voice assistant (smartphone feature), USB phone charge ports, Link 2 speakerphones, Pause/play media (default, customizable).

Usage Features:

  • Power On: The speakerphone powers on automatically when connected to an outlet via its power cable.
  • Corded Setup: Connects to a computer via the provided USB-C cable. It's crucial to ensure the USB-C-only connector is plugged into the speakerphone for proper function, as the USB-A to USB-C adapter should be connected to the computer.
  • Mobile Setup (Bluetooth Pairing): Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will flash a crossing blue pattern, and the user will hear "pairing." After activating Bluetooth on the mobile device and selecting "Poly Sync 60," a "pairing successful" voice prompt and solid blue LED confirm the connection.
  • NFC Pairing: For compatible mobile devices, NFC pairing is available by bringing the mobile device's NFC tag within range of the speakerphone's NFC tag.
  • Secure Connection (Mobile): This feature, managed in the Poly Lens App, enhances security by disconnecting the paired mobile device after each call, preventing unintended audio playback through the speakerphone. To continue the mobile connection after a call, any button must be pressed within 30 seconds; otherwise, the connection ends, and the Bluetooth button LED turns off.
  • Call Management: Answer or end calls by pressing the Call button. Mute or unmute microphones using the Mute button.
  • Volume Control: Adjust volume with the Volume up (+) and Volume down (-) buttons. Speakerphone microphone volume can be adjusted during a test softphone call.
  • Voice Assistant: Press and hold the Call button for 2 seconds to activate the smartphone's default voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana).
  • Microsoft Teams Integration (Teams Model): The dedicated Teams button allows quick access to the Microsoft Teams desktop app. It pulses when there's a meeting or notification.
  • Customizable Rocket Button: The Rocket button's function can be customized via the Poly Lens App. Default is "Play/pause media," but options include device status check, clearing trusted device list, mobile calls only (default voice assistant), redial, or hold/resume call.
  • Mobile Phone Charging: Two USB-A ports on the speakerphone allow charging of up to two mobile phones while the speakerphone is powered on.
  • Video Camera Connection: A USB-A port is available on the reverse side for connecting a compatible video camera. Access requires removing a cover with the provided torx tool.
  • Daisy Chain Audio: Link two Poly Sync speakerphones wirelessly by pressing both Link buttons for 2 seconds. A "connecting" voice prompt and pulsing white LEDs indicate linking mode. "Connection successful" and solid white LEDs confirm successful linking. The primary device's settings are used in a daisy-chained setup.

Maintenance Features:

  • Software Updates: Firmware updates are crucial for improved performance and new features. These are managed through the Poly Lens App on a computer. During updates, it's important not to use the device, disconnect from paired devices, avoid starting a second update, refrain from streaming media, and not answer or place calls.
  • Poly Lens Desktop App: This application allows users to customize device behavior, manage advanced settings, and update firmware. It also enables device call control for some softphones.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues, such as no audio in corded mode (check power, USB cable insertion, and port connection), Microsoft Teams interaction (Teams model only, desktop app required), stereo sound availability in daisy chain mode (via Poly Lens App settings), and managing the speakerphone with Poly software (Poly Lens Desktop App and Plantronics Hub Desktop App are supported, but not mobile apps).
