To address this, disassemble the drive clutch to inspect the shift weights for wear and ensure they operate freely. Another cause may be related to the driven clutch. If the driven clutch is malfunctioning, replace the ramp buttons and rollers. Also, clean and polish the stationary shaft hub. Finally, inspect the movable sheaves for excessive bushing clearance and replace them if necessary.
