  If your Polaris snowmobile fails to move, several issues could be the cause. The clutch might be jammed due to a twisted belt or broken spring. A foreign object may have jammed the track, or the rail slide melted to the track clips due to lack of lubrication. The track may be iced up or frozen to the ground. The chaincase sprocket or chain could be jammed or broken, or the chain tightener may be loose. Finally, the teeth on the QUICKDRIVE belt could be sheared, or the QUICKDRIVE belt could be broken. If the QUICKDRIVE belt is the issue, replace it.

  Excessive belt wear in your Polaris snowmobile can be caused by several factors. Driving at low RPMs, insufficient warm-up, towing at low RPM, riding with high RPM and slow speed, ice and snow build-up, poor engine performance, improper loading onto trailers, clutch malfunction, or slow clutch engagement. To mitigate this, drive at higher RPMs or gear the machine down, ensure at least five minutes of engine warm-up, avoid towing in deep snow, and use fast, aggressive throttle to engage the clutch. Also, check for fouled plugs and water, ice, or dirt in the fuel tank or fuel line.

If it still fails to start, check for spark. If there's no spark, see your dealer. Another reason could be that there's no fuel getting to the engine. Make sure the fuel valve is on and that the tank contains fuel. Ice may be in the fuel line, filter, or pump, so add isopropyl alcohol to the fuel system. For further assistance, see your dealer. Also, poor engine compression could be the reason, which indicates a major engine problem that must be repaired by your dealer before operating.
