How to fix a Polaris PB4-60 cleaning/circulating system that isn't working?
    • S
      Shawn ConnerJul 26, 2025
If your cleaning or circulating system isn't operating correctly, start by verifying that the skimmer baskets, pump basket, and other screens are clean. Clean them if necessary. Next, check the filter and clean it as needed. Also, check the valve positions and adjust them as necessary. Keep in mind that operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously, such as waterfalls, spa jets, and surface returns, may hinder the cleaning system's proper function. Manually check the cleaning system to ensure it's adjusted according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

What to do if air leaks are still present in my Polaris PB4-60 Water Pump?
    • K
      Krista WalshJul 31, 2025
If air leaks persist, check the suction side piping union. While the pump is running, try tightening the union. If the leak continues, turn off the pump, loosen both unions, and slide the pump out of the way. Remove, clean, and reinstall both union o-rings on the filtration pump. Reposition the pump next to the piping and secure the union nuts to the pump. Hand-tightening should create a seal with clean union o-rings. If the unions still don't seal, gently tighten them with tongue-and-groove pliers, being careful not to overtighten.

Why are there bubbles in my Polaris PB4-60 Water Pump filtration basket?
    • K
      Keith HooperAug 10, 2025
Bubbles in the filtration pump basket usually indicate air in the system. First, check the pool or spa water level to ensure it's at the proper level, preventing air from being drawn into the suction piping. If the water level is normal, turn off the pump, remove the lid, and inspect for debris around the lid o-ring seat or improper installation of the lid seal. Clean the lid o-ring, place it on the lid, and hand-tighten the lid to create an airtight seal. Avoid using tools to tighten the lid. Then, turn the pump back on.

Why does my Polaris PB4-60 get hot and shut off?
    • B
      Brandon ThompsonAug 15, 2025
If your pump gets hot and shuts off periodically, ensure there is enough space around the motor for air to circulate and keep it cool. Additionally, have a qualified electrician check for loose connections and verify the voltage at the pump motor during operation. The voltage should be within 10% of the motor's data plate rating. If it's not, contact a qualified electrician or your local power service provider.

What causes low pressure in a Polaris PB4-60 Water Pump with no impeller blockage?
    • B
      Becky PerezAug 20, 2025
Low pressure in your Polaris Water Pump, despite no impeller blockage, could be due to several reasons: * The pump impeller might be showing signs of normal wear. In this case, have a qualified service technician inspect and replace the impeller if necessary. * If the pump is part of a relatively new installation, there could be an electrical problem. Contact a qualified service technician to check for loose electrical connections and verify that the voltage at the pump motor is within 10% of the motor's data plate rating. If it's not, contact a qualified electrician or your local power service provider. * The pump seal may be leaking air. Have a qualified service technician replace the seal.
