MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Filter Systems (RANGER TM)
Air Filter
We recommend that the air filter be
replaced annually. When operating
in extremely dusty conditions, or if
the vehicle is operated in wet
conditions or at high throttle
openings for extended periods,
service the air cleaner more
frequently.
1. Remove the seat to access the air
cleaner.
2. Remove the breather hose (1) from
the cylinder.
3. Remove the wing nut (2) and remove
the air cleaner cover (3).
4. Remove the primary filter (4) and the
secondary filter (5). NOTE: Do not
attempt to clean the primary filter.
Install new.
5. Wash the secondary (foam) filter with
hot soapy water. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
6. Inspect the filter for tears or damage.
Replace with a new filter if needed.
7. Apply foam filter oil or clean engine oil
and squeeze the filter until excess oil is
removed.
8. Reassemble all components.
Fuel Filter
Your Polaris RANGER TM is equipped with an in-line fuel filter that
should be replaced by your dealer after every 100 hours of operation.
Do not attempt to clean the fuel filter.
