VEHICLE CONDITION INDICATOR LIGHTS
INDICATOR ICON FUNCTION
Check Engine
This indicator appears if a fault occurs. Do not
operate the vehicle if this warning appears.
Serious engine damage could result. Your
authorized POLARIS dealer can assist.
Chassis Warning
If a fault condition is detected, the light will
remain on as long as the condition exists.
Retrieve the error codes for diagnosis. This
lamp is also known as an Amber Warning
Lamp (AWL).
EPS Warning (if
equipped)
This indicator illuminates briefly when the key
is turned to the ON position. If the light remains
on, the EPS system is inoperative. See your
POLARIS dealer, or other qualified person, as
soon as possible for repair. Continued
operation could result in permanent damage to
the EPS unit and increased steering effort. For
more information, see the Electronic Power
Steering (EPS) section.
Engine Hot
This lamp illuminates to indicate an overheated
engine. If the indicator flashes, the overheating
condition remains, and the system will
automatically reduce engine power. If the
vehicle continues to operate with this indicator
on, the engine will eventually be turned off.
If the engine is turned off, check for coolant. If
no coolant is present, do not restart the engine.
Have the vehicle inspected by your authorized
POLARIS dealer.
Check Battery
This warning usually indicates an issue with
the vehicle’s alternator. It may be that the
alternator belt has failed, the alternator is no
longer functional, or the wiring between the
alternator and the battery is no longer
connected or is damaged.
