CLUTCH
ALIGNMENT
AND
CENTER DISTANCE
Due
to
the lower center
of
gravity location
of
the engine the
center distance between the center
of
the crankshaft and the
center
of
the jackshaft
is
not
adjustable. Should the distance
change,
it
will
be
necessary
to
inspect the mounts and mounting
bolts
for
proper tightness,
distortion,
or
breakage.

The proper center distance
is
10~"
-1/4".

/32"
The
sheave
offset
is
5/8"
-0"
. This
is
adjusted by either
adding
or
removing the spacer washers
from
behind the driven
clutch.
After
alignment, you should very carefully start the engine,
accelerate the machine
to
get the belt
to
the
top
of
the drive
clutch and make certain the belt
is
running in a straight line.
Clutch
center distance and alignment should
be
checked
0 weekly
or
immediately after a
belt
is
replaced.
WARNING:
Do
not
rev engine above level required
to
get
belt
to
top
of
drive clutch when in unloaded
condition
(approximately
7500
RPM). Stay
clear
of
all moving parts.
