improper adjusting
or
servicing could result in poor engine
performance,
it
is
very
important
that
the correct procedure
be
followed
when cleaning, checking
or
replacing worn
or
damaged parts.
Before opening the carburetor consult the trouble shooting
chart.
Always
use
genui
ne
Keihin replacement parts.
OVERHAUL
1.
DISMANTLING
AND
CHECKING OF THE PUMP SEC-
TION:
a)
Loosen the six screws and remove the pump section
from
the main body.
b)
Check the
pump
diaphragm. As the pump diaphragm
is
made
of
thin
stainless steel,
it
should
be
handled
with
care. Replace,
if
damaged
or
deformed.
c)
Check the gasket between the pump and mixing
body
and
also
the
gasket inside
the
pump body. Replace
if
necessary.
d) Check the
"0"
ring in the mixing
body
and pump
body
and replace,
if
necessary.
e)
Check and replace the check valve
if
damaged
or
worn.
Caution should
be
used
not
to
pull
or
roll
the
check valve
as
this
part
is
made
of
extra
thin
synthetic rubber material.
f)
Check
if
the surface
of
the
brass
valve
seats
is
smooth.
Replace
pump
body
if
necessary
as
the valve
seats
are
bonded
into
the
pump
body.
g)
Check the regulator diaphragm being careful
not
to
pull
~
or
roll
it. Replace,
if
broken.
2.
CHECKING
OF
THE
REGULATOR
CHAMBER:
a)
Confirm
that
the
top
of
the
inlet
control
lever
is
adjusted
properly
so
as
to
be
flush
with
the
floor
of
the
regulator
chamber.
