Engines should
be
checked over weekly. This in-
cludes: check all nuts and bolts, pull exhaust pipes
and
check
the piston rings
for
tension and the piston
for
possible seizure.
6.
Piston rings - Every
four
to
five weeks
or
every
2Y:!
to
3 hours, we
suggest
that
you install new piston rings. Do
not
hone the 1973 Starflame cylinders,
as
you
will
damage the
chrome
liner. A break-in period
of
10-15 minutes should
be
followed
as
per item no. 1 after re-ringing.

Engine overhaul - The
TX
Starfire engines
are
very
simple
to
dismantle and reassemble. The
only
special tools
that
are
necessary are:
