Vehicles equipped with this feature may
produce an occasional “whirring” sound
under the rear of the vehicle. Under
heavier rear loads, this noise indicates
that the system air compressor is oper-
ating to provide a level ride height, and
is normal.

Automatic Level Control
(if equipped)
AWD-equipped vehicles automatically
transfer power to the rear wheels when
the front wheels begin to slip. No action
by the driver is required. There may be
a slight noise when the system
engages; this is normal.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) System
(if equipped)
Vehicles equipped with Traction Control
System (TCS) limit wheelspin. TCS only
operates when it senses that one or
both of the front wheels are beginning to
lose traction. When this happens, the
system operates the front brakes and
reduces engine power to limit wheel-
spin. It is normal to hear or feel the sys-
tem working. TCS is automatically
enabled whenever you start the vehicle.
You can disable it if your vehicle ever
gets stuck in sand, mud or snow and it
is necessary to rock the vehicle to free
it. To disable TCS, press the TRAC OFF
button located on the instrument panel
switchbank. The TRAC OFF light will
illuminate. Enable the system by press-
ing the TRAC OFF button again. The
TRAC OFF light will darken.
