Installer Responsibilities

Ensure installer provides completed Benchmark Checklist for warranty work. Keep instructions safe.

Operating the Boiler

Position (i) Heating and Hot Water

Central heating and domestic hot water operation based on timer or tap demand. Priority given to hot water.

Position (ii) Hot Water Only

Provides only domestic hot water when a tap or shower is turned on. Central heating will not operate.

Fault Indication

Error Code Identification

Error codes (E-series) are displayed for faults. Identify specific codes for component or system issues.

Resetting the Boiler

Procedure to reset the boiler by turning the selector switch anticlockwise for 5 seconds.

Pump and Valve Protection

Automatic operation of pump and 3-way valve to prevent sticking during periods of inactivity.

Temperature Control

Central Heating Temperature Adjustment

Adjust central heating flow temperature between 25°C and 80°C using the control knob.

Domestic Hot Water Temperature Adjustment

Adjust domestic hot water temperature up to a maximum of 60°C using the control knob.

Central Heating System Pressure

Pressure Monitoring and Requirements

Monitor system pressure via gauge. Minimum 0.5 bar cold, 1.0-2.0 bar operating. 3 bar indicates fault.

Boiler Shut Off Procedures

Short periods: turn selector to OFF. Long periods: turn selector OFF, disconnect electricity and gas supplies.

Frost Protection Operation

Automatic operation in CH/HW mode to prevent freezing when system temperature drops below 5°C.

Servicing and Repair of your Boiler

Cleaning the Boiler Casing

Wipe painted panels with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Setting the Timer

Timer Modes and Switch

Three-position switch for Constant, Timed, or Off operation. Controls heating schedule.

Setting the Time of Day

Turn timer outer bezel clockwise to align pointer with correct time (nearest 15 mins).

Setting the Timed Heating Program

Decide heating times. White tappets on outer edge for ON, inwards for OFF.

Safety and Installation Clearances

Installation Requirements

Must be installed per manufacturer's instructions and regulations. No modifications without permission.

Minimum Clearances for Safety

Specific minimum clearances for Top, Bottom, Left, Right, and Front for safety and maintenance.

Environmental Precautions

Avoid flammable materials near boiler, ensure flue terminal is clear, and condensate drain is unobstructed.

Emergency Procedures

Gas Leak Warning

If gas is smelled, turn off supply at meter and call gas supplier immediately.

Faulty Boiler Warning

Do not use a boiler if a fault is known or suspected until corrected by a competent person.

Water or Gas Leak Isolation

Turn off electrical supply and turn selector switch to OFF. Isolate gas at tap and water inlet valves.
