Never touch or attempt to stop a moving chain with your hand.
Keep the chain sharp and in good condition to prevent bucking.
Start the engine without assistance to avoid injury from a moving chain.
Stop the engine before carrying the saw between trees; carry with chain behind.
Select a safe path of retreat before felling a tree.
Plan cuts carefully to prevent the chain from jerking the engine.
Be aware of falling limbs and wear a safety helmet.
Never operate the saw in a damaged condition to prevent further issues.
Remove bar mounting nuts, washers, clamp and outer bar plate.
Mount the slotted end of bar over bar mounting studs.
Place chain around sprocket with cutting teeth facing forward.
Work the chain into the groove of the bar until all drive links engage.
Slide bar forward and fit adjustment hole over the adjusting pin.
Place outer guide plate and install bar clamp and nuts.
Turn adjusting screw to set light chain tension, allowing free movement.
Mix 1½ pt. (8 oz.) SAE 30 oil with each gallon of gasoline.
Do not add oil and gasoline separately to the gas tank.
Hold saw firmly and pull starter rope handle smartly.
Turn high speed and low speed needles clockwise until seated, then counter-clockwise.
Avoid excessive lean settings to prevent engine damage from overheating.
Never operate your saw without the fuel pickup filter in place.
Keep cylinder fins clean for proper cooling and to prevent severe engine damage.
Use a fileholder and correct size file; tension chain on guide bar.
Maintain 35° Top Plate Filing, 60° Top Plate Cutting, 90° Side Plate angles.
