Usage Features:

The trimmer is equipped with several features to enhance usability and safety. It has an On/Off switch for easy operation and a power cable with a strain relief to prevent damage. An auxiliary handle is provided for better control, and its position can be adjusted using a lever for tube and cutting head angle adjustment. The telescopic tube allows for height adjustment, making it comfortable for users of different heights. A safety guard protects against debris, and a flower guard helps protect plants and stalks from being cut. The cutting line is automatically extended during operation, and a line release button is available for manual adjustment. A spool cap secures the line spool.

For starting and stopping, users should ensure the trimmer is switched off and unplugged before assembly. Always wear goggles when working with the trimmer. To start, press the on/off switch (1), and to stop, release it. The cutting head will continue to rotate for a few seconds after being switched off.

When cutting, users should approach the grass that is to be cut, avoiding damp or wet grass. Overloading the trimmer should be avoided. Solid obstacles like stones, walls, fences, etc., should be avoided, and the flower guard should be used to keep the trimmer away from such obstacles. The power cable should always trail behind the user to prevent damage. Grass should be cut by swaying the trimmer sideways, and long grass should be cut in layers from top to bottom.

The auxiliary handle can be set in different positions, and the main handle allows for vertical edging by turning it 90° and 180°. The lever for tube and cutting head angle adjustment (5) and the main handle (18) can be used to adjust the desired position. The flower guard (16) keeps plants and stalks away from the cutting lines.

The trimmer uses a fully automatic dual line system. If a short or worn cutting line is not cutting effectively, the power plug should be disconnected, and the spool replaced. If no line ends are visible, the spool should be renewed. To manually adjust the line, disconnect the plug, press the line-release button, pull the ends of the cutting line out, and let go of the button.

Maintenance Features:

Before undertaking any maintenance work, the trimmer must always be disconnected from the mains socket. Cleaning agents and solvents should not be used. After work, all grass and soil from the cutting device and protective cover should be removed. Ventilation slots should be kept clean and free of grass. The trimmer can be cleaned with a soft brush or cloth.

For replacing the trimming assembly, never manipulate the cutting device by inserting worn out original or non-approved parts. Only original spare parts should be used. The plug from the mains socket should be disconnected, and the cutting head (15) should be turned upwards. To remove the spool cap (13), simultaneously press the two retaining tabs on the side of the cutting head. The spool (14) can then be removed from the cutting head. A new spool should be inserted with the smooth side facing upwards, and the two cutting lines (10) threaded through the line eyelets (12). The line ends should not slip out of the spool slots. The spool cap should be replaced, ensuring the retaining tabs are accurately inserted into the corresponding recesses of the cutting head. To release the line, press the line-release button (11) and pull the ends of the line out a little.

For plug replacement, if the fitted plug needs to be replaced, the instructions provided in the manual should be followed. The wires in the mains lead are coloured blue (neutral) and brown (live). The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked 'N' or coloured black, and the brown wire to the terminal marked 'L' or coloured red. An approved BS 1363 5 Amp fuse should be fitted. If a moulded plug is fitted and has to be removed, care should be taken in disposing of the plug and severed cable to prevent accidental plugging into a power socket.

For storage, the trimmer and its accessories should be cleaned after each use to avoid mould formation. It should be stored in a dry place, out of reach of children, and not exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. Plastic sacks should not be wrapped around the trimmer, as this could result in the formation of moisture and mould. The trimmer should not be stood on its protective cover, and it should be suspended by its main handle in such a manner that the protective cover does not come into contact with other objects. This is because the protective cover could become deformed, thereby changing its dimensions and its safety properties.

Troubleshooting information is provided for common issues such as excessive vibration, poor cutting performance, trimmer not starting, and line failing to advance. Solutions include cleaning or exchanging the line spool, checking the power supply, contacting customer support for worn carbon brushes or defective motor, and ensuring the line spool is correctly fitted and threaded.

The manual also includes a section on "Getting Help" and "Warranty." The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship, and finish for 3 years from the date of purchase. It does not apply to products misused or neglected and only covers domestic use.
