Air cooling system
Dust clogging around the cooling system and the cylinder fins will
cause overheating of the engine. Periodically check and clean the
cooling system and the cylinder fins with a brush after removing
the cylinder cover, the air cleaner and the recoil case. When
installing the cylinder cover and the cooling system, make sure
that switch wires and grommets are positioned correctly in place.
NOTE: Be sure to unblock the air intake hole.
Maintenance of the saw chain and chain bar
NOTE: It is very important for smooth and safe operation to
always keep the cutters sharp.
The cutters need to be sharpened when:
1. Sawdust becomes powder-like.
2. Cutting requires extra force.
3. The chainsaw does not cut straight and clean.
4. Vibration increases.
5. Fuel consumption increases.
