Diagnostic Test 4
Use this test to check the function of the main blade and clamp motor as well as the function of the motor brakes and ready
light. Once in this test, the following keys result in the indicated action.
1 Key Releases the Clamp Brake
2 Key Makes the Clamp Motor Run Up
3 Key Makes the Clamp Motor Run Down
4 Key Releases the Blade Brake
5 Key Makes the Blade Motor Run Up
6 Key Makes the Blade Motor Run Down
MODE Key Illuminates the Ready Light
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that these diagnostic tests will not
override basic machine safety features. The main
blade and clamp motors will only run when the front cover is in the lowered position. Likewise, the main motors will stop
running when they reach the end of their travel. For example-the blade motor can not be forced to run up when the blade is
already in the up position. It must be brought down slightly first and then may be run in the upwards direction.
Diagnostic Test 5
This test defines the home position. It comes pre-set from the factory and should only require adjustment when a replace-
ment board is installed in a machine.
When the second screen appears, press 1 to select a 26” cutter and 2 to select a 21” cutter. The 3 key is reserved for future
use and has no function at present. The cutter must then be turned off and then back on to implement the new backgauge
length.
Diagnostic Test 6
This test performs a back gauge cycle test for functionality. The back gauge automatically moves from its home position to
the front of its travel in 2” increments. Once it reaches the front of its travel, it increments the cycle counter, moves back to
home position and repeats the test.
To pause or stop the test, press the STOP key to stop the test. Press the SPEED key to restart the test. Press the UNDO key
to return the system to the diagnostic entry screen.
Diagnostic Test 7
This test allows the selection of one of five languages and the units of measure. The default language on the PL cutter is
English. The default for the movement of the back gauge and subsequent readout is in inches. To Change Either, see
Section 5.0.
