For negative chassis-earthed vehicles, connect the
positive lead from the charger to the battery
positive terminal first. Then connect the negative
lead from charger to the battery negative terminal,
or the vehicle chassis. After charging is complete,
disconnect the battery charger from the mains
supply, then remove the negative lead from the
battery, and lastly remove the positive lead from
the battery.
