Using SmartRate
The Precor SmartRate
®
technology is a precise,
easy-to-read heart rate monitor that helps users
achieve their best personalized workouts. SmartRate
displays actual heart rate information in relation to the
users target zone for weight loss and cardiovascular
training.
The SmartRate monitor is visible during all workouts.
In addition, Heart Rate Control (HRC) workouts adjust
their intensity automatically to keep a users heart rate
in its target zone.
The following diagram shows how the weight loss and
cardio heart rate zones vary depending on your age.
CAUTION: Your heart rate should never exceed 85% of
your maximum heart rate. You can calculate your
maximum heart rate using the following formula:
Maximum heart rate = 207 – (0.67 × your age)
CAUTION: Before beginning any fitness program, see
your physician for a thorough physical examination.
Seek advice from your physician to learn the target
heart rate appropriate for your fitness level.
