  First, ensure the power cord of your Pro-Form Treadmill is securely plugged into a properly earthed outlet. If needed, use a 3-conductor, 1 mm[2] (14-gauge) extension cord no longer than 1.5 m (5 ft.). Next, verify that the key is fully inserted into the console. Finally, check the circuit breaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If the switch protrudes, the breaker has tripped; wait five minutes, then press the switch to reset it.

  If your Pro-Form Treadmill turns off during use, first check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If tripped, wait five minutes before pressing the switch to reset it. Next, ensure the power cord is securely plugged in; if it is, unplug it, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Also, remove and reinsert the key fully into the console.

  If the displays on your Pro-Form Treadmill console aren't functioning correctly, unplug the power cord first. Then, check the batteries in the console and replace them if necessary. Next, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Remove the screws from the hood, and carefully remove the hood. Locate the Reed Switch (44) and the Magnet (45) on the left side of the Pulley (50). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Ensure the gap between them is correct, then retighten the screw. Re-attach the hood and test the treadmill for a few minutes to check the speed reading.

Why does the walking belt slow down when I walk on my Pro-Form 6.5Q?

  If the walking belt on your Pro-Form Treadmill slows down when you walk on it, use only a 3-conductor, 1 mm[2] (14-gauge) extension cord that is no longer than 1.5 m (5 ft.) if an extension cord is needed. If the walking belt is overtightened, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Using an allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn. When correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 7 to 10 cm (2 to 3 in.) off the walking platform. Keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert the key, and test the treadmill for a few minutes.
